In 2008 Waikato Bay of Plenty will represent New Zealand on the international stage at the Oceania U12 Youth Festival in New Caledonia from May 28^th – 31^st. The tournament involves U12 sides from around the Oceania confederation with the winner earning the right to compete at the Danone nation’s cup in Lyon, France in September.

 

 

The Weir Rose Bowl has been operating for over 50 years and involves selected U12 (born in 1996) male and female players from United Soccer 1, Auckland Football Federation and Waikato Bay of Plenty. The 2008 tournament will be held at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland from September 29^th – October 1^st. Waikato Bay of Plenty will have two U12 boys team, two U12 girls teams as well as an U11 boys development squad competing in this years tournament.

 

 

Annually all seven federations compete in a national tournament that is held at Park Island, Napier in December. The make up of the 2008 tournament including which age groups will be involved is to be confirmed by New Zealand Football by the end of April.
